My own lamb
About 2-3 weeks ago I got a brand new lamb! His name is Danny or DC for short which stands for Danny Carter by the way I did not choose the name my brother did! I am going to bring Danny to pet day which I will write about! I will tell you about him now but on a few days I will put a picture of Danny! Danny has long ears beautiful eyes a lovely tail well used to because he has been tailed and his tail has now come off. Danny has recently been staying outside all night and day instead of sleeping in his pen or staying in the yard instead he has been staying on our veranda all day.
Remember that I will be posting a photo of him soon!
See you for now

My Starlight writing competition!
At my school me and seven other people are doing this writing competition! We either write a Poem (40 lines or less) or a Prose (600 word or less)!
Here's my Prose:
Here's my Prose:
Stargazing
Every Night I look out my rusty brown window. I see the stars shining in my room to make a glimpse of light. I love the sound of the silents in my room and the bright glimpse of light shining on my long old white bed. I wonder if the stars will ever get closer so we can ever look at what they really look like. As I gaze out to the stars I see a bright light the light soon gets closer and even closer then the light blinds me and I fall into a deep sleep.
I wake up with a gasp wondering what happened last night? It might of been a meteor or even maybe with a thought of hope it could've been a shooting star. I’m going to investigate. I quietly crawl out of bed hopefully not waking up my parents. I sneak into my parents room. PHEW they have not woken up. I creep into the living room knowing that my parents are asleep I grab the computer and do some research on bright stars and meteors. As I do my research I realize that the walls are white and not blue and the floors are white instead of brown floorboards. I must just be still be waking up, so I decided to pinch myself to wake myself up more! “ouch!”. The walls and floors are still white. I scream and run up to my parents room hopefully this is just a nightmare. When I reach my parents room and give my mum a big hug I discover that my mum and dad are not in there bed, but I saw them before, oh this is turning out to be a big mystery! I get dressed and run out the door when I get outside it’s still night time. What is happening I wonder? I run all the way down the street to get further information on this I run into the super market people are freaking out! Everyone is screaming and babies are crying (well in fact babies always cry so this is natrual)! Then the light that blinded me last night or a couple of hours ago comes back and I realize it must of been a shooting star I gaze at like I always do every night out my rusty window. I scream and shout like the other innocent people. I run home with an unpleasant thought of what just happened. As I run home and open the front door my parents are in staring at the the stars with their wondrous faces. I run up to my room having a massive tantrum and fall on my bed at try to go to sleep. I fall asleep with a horrid thought.
As I wake up my parents are sitting beside me! “ you had one heck of a nightmare Lexis ” says my mum “you were screaming for hours” says my dad suspiciously. “ it was a nightmare, It was a nightmare” I say excitingly. I do not want to risk having another nightmare like that again.
So heres a little thing you should always remember:
“I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.” Sarah WIlliams, The Old Astronomer to his Pupil.

Persuade Me! Class Pet
Dear Alice
● I think we should get a class pet because I think we deserve it and I think we could
gain up our responsibility by looking after the/our class pet.
● I think the options of the class of the pet should be:
❏ Fish (maybe a goldfish)
❏ Guinea Pig
❏ Budgie
❏ Mice
● So looking after the class pet the person that gets pep or you think that is
responsible and reliable and definitely deserves it could take home the class pet
home for the weekend (if that was ok with the parents of course I know mine
would!!!)
Yours sincerely, Emily T

History of Springston
Hello, This is some of my writing that I did at school about The History of Springston School.
The History of Springston School
Springston School opened in 1868. There was one classroom with fourteen children and the land that the school was built on was by Mr James Gammack.
When the district wanted to build Springston school the community had to come up with one quarter of the cost. In the 1800s the school children had to use syrup buckets as their lunch boxes. The children got to choose when they wanted to go to school, but when they didn't go to school it was because they ether had to help on their farm or go to the market and sell their crops or animals.
In 1956 there was a new Springston school which we are in now. So the previous playground got sold for housing and then of course there was a new playground built after that they decided to build a 13,500 gallon pool!!!
In 2014 Springston School got four new classrooms. And now have iPads, BYOD and a lot more technology!
So now you know the history of Springston School. Springston School used to be a small school but now Springston School is bigger and the population of the school is growing each year.

ANZAC Day
ANZAC Day
Well on the 25th of april I went to the Leeston ANZAC service at 10:30am - 11:30am. First we had to walk down to the hall and when we got into the hall there were at least 2,000 people there. In the hall there were a few speeches and songs that we had to sing. After that we walked down the the statue thing that had all the names of the soliders that fought in the war and the ones that died from Leeston of course! And my Great Great Uncle George taiaroa was on their so we put a poppy in the box to remember and appreciate him then a couple of minutes later we found his cross and put a poppy in the ground by his cross!
And thats what i did on ANZAC Day.
